Issue No. 75: Final Newsletter ✌️
Hey, Outsiders! First things first, I want to thank you for subscribing to Outsider Insider. To those who have been with us for a while, I hope you have enjoyed the newsletter each week. To recent subscribers, I wish we had more time together as this is the final issue of Outsider Insider.
As a business owner and my time spent as the Director of Outdoor Recreation for NH, I saw a need for a fun easy-to-read newsletter for the Outdoors similar to what was being packaged by Front Office Sports, and the Morning Brew. Heading into my last year of grad school, I decided to launch Outsider Insider and committed to delivering a newsletter each week (for a good chunk of it two times per week) for the entire year of 2023.
What was accomplished:
Newsletters delivered: 75
Average open rates: 67.5%
Average clicks-to-open rates: 63%
Subscribers from industry-leading companies such as AllTrails, Outdoor Industry Association, Backcountry, Outside Inc, REI, State OREC Offices, Hipcamp, Outdoor Retailer, Wildwood VC, Specialized, Colorado University, Outdoor Recreation Roundtable, Gathr Outdoors, Vista Outdoors, and many others!
Top newsletters from 2023:
Issue No. 22: The Dirty Laundry of Greenwashing 🧺
Issue No. 43: Outdoor Companies Summit Inc 5000 List 🧗🏼♂️🏆
Issue No. 52: Presenting the Climate Corps 💪
Issue No. 61: Patagonia Headlines x 4️⃣
Issue No. 70: 2023 was AllTrails Year! 🏆
Each week, we dove into the business of the outdoors from multiple perspectives and took a comprehensive approach to the outdoor industry and what impacts it and its stakeholders. I don’t believe there is a platform out there that does this to the degree of Outsider Insider but here are some of the platforms I follow and might fill the void for you:
Thank you for joining me this year, I hope Outsider Insider was a message that landed in your inbox each week that you enjoyed opening and reading. I would love to connect with anyone on LinkedIn, please connect with me here.
Go out and make 2024 the best year yet! 👊
