⛰ Mountains and Hills (Capital Hill, that is)🏛️:

The Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and local communities in Washington D.C. to discuss expanding outdoor infrastructure, equitable access, and sustainability. The OIA's Capitol Summit aimed to create a "unified voice" for the industry and promote policy priorities such as climate change, recreation infrastructure, and equitable access.

The summit's attendees included leading outdoor industry brands such as Patagonia and North Face, as well as representatives from non-profit organizations such as the National Park Foundation, Outdoor Recreation Roundtable, and the Sierra Club. Topics of discussion included public lands access, climate change, and the importance of equity in the outdoors.

Speakers at the summit included Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, who discussed the importance of conservation efforts and protecting public lands, and Sally Jewell, former Secretary of the Interior and current CEO of the Nature Conservancy, who emphasized the need for collaboration between public and private sectors in promoting sustainable outdoor recreation.

🇺🇸 The Confluence of States hosted their spring meetings during OIA’s Capital Summit. A convening of outdoor recreation leaders across various states with offices, divisions, or departments of Outdoor Recreation.
